CarRisk
Terms of Service

Clear limits for an evidence-based vehicle service.

Effective September 21, 2026. By purchasing or using a CarRisk service, you agree to these terms for the service you request.

1. What CarRisk provides

CarRisk provides automotive research, decision-support tools, appointment-based vehicle services and related customer guidance. Specific products may include vehicle reports, guided inspections, quote reviews, photo damage assessments, pre-purchase inspections and Ontario vehicle appraisal services.

2. Informational services are not guarantees

Digital CarRisk reports and tools are informational. They do not guarantee the condition, reliability, ownership history, future repair cost, roadworthiness or suitability of a vehicle. Government and third-party records may be incomplete, delayed, model-level or unavailable.

3. Physical inspection limits

A CarRisk pre-purchase inspection is a condition assessment, not an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate and not a certification that a vehicle is roadworthy. Inspection scope can be limited by access, weather, seller permission, vehicle condition, road-test permission, diagnostic access and whether a hoist or teardown is available.

4. Photo assessments and appraisals

Photo Damage Assessments are preliminary and cannot confirm hidden structural, suspension, safety-system, calibration or behind-panel damage. An Ontario Vehicle Appraisal documents condition/value information for the service requested; ServiceOntario or another authority determines any final registration or tax treatment.

5. Customer responsibilities

You are responsible for entering accurate information, reviewing the report and disclaimers, obtaining any professional mechanical, structural, legal, financial or insurance advice you need, and making your own purchase or repair decision. Do not use CarRisk to misrepresent a vehicle or falsify records.

6. Payments

Prices shown at checkout are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise. Online paid products use Stripe Checkout. Access to paid digital products or credits is activated only after payment is verified. Taxes, where applicable, may be added or handled as required by the payment workflow.

7. Buyer Package and passes

Buyer Package credits and Guided Inspection uses are tied to the access method provided after purchase. Keep secure access links private. Product limits, expiry periods and included quantities are shown before purchase and in the applicable dashboard or product page.

8. Third-party information

CarRisk may rely on government databases and other permitted data sources. CarRisk does not control those sources and does not guarantee that every recall, complaint, campaign or other record is complete or current. Complaint counts are reports, not failure rates.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, CarRisk is not responsible for losses caused by a seller's misrepresentation, hidden defects, incomplete third-party records, a customer's purchase or repair decision, or conditions outside the reasonable scope of the purchased CarRisk service. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
